About

About Me

Hello I’m Fiona and I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Waterford. I am the owner and Psychotherapist behind Suirside Therapy and Counselling. I work with adults and teens using an integrative, humanistic approach which can be adapted to the individual needs of the person. You can read more about the type of modality I use under the services tab.

Background

Prior to entering the field of counselling and psychotherapy I worked in the area of social care for over ten years. During this time my work encompassed working with children and adolescents who had experienced trauma and attachment issues as well as their families, adults with chronic and enduring mental health issues, people at risk of homelessness, and people living with cancer and their families. During my training in Counselling and Psychotherapy I completed placement working with survivors of domestic abuse.

I now work full time in private practice working with clients with a range of different presenting issues.
