Why Attend Therapy?

Anyone can experience mental health difficulties or feel that they need support to process their life. Seeing a Counsellor or Psychotherapist allows you to tell your story in a confidential, safe and non-judgemental space where you can begin to make sense of how your experiences have impacted you. Attending therapy can create understanding and awareness which will give you the choice to make changes in your life and relationships. You can gain resources and put boundaries in place to help you live the life that you want.

I work with adults experiencing a broad range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and identity issues. I specialise in working with people who have experienced trauma and are working through their history and want support with this. I am passionate about supporting people to process their experiences and make sense of how this is impacting them in the present.

My Approach

When we work together, I will view and treat you in a person-centred and holistic way. I recognise that you are the expert in your own experience. My job is to accompany you on your journey, supporting you to make sense of it and working with you to navigate challenges while helping you to build resources.

I view the therapeutic relationship as the most important aspect of your journey with therapy. The therapeutic relationship plays a huge part in the success of your experience. I welcome you to challenge me and discuss any concerns. I offer a free 15 minute phone call to give us both an opportunity to see if we feel suited to working together. Feel free to ask me any questions about how I work or my experience.

I am an integrative therapist which means that I integrate a number of modalities into my work and that I can adapt these to best support you. My approach is usually a mixture of client-centred therapy, attachment theory, trauma-informed care and psycho-education.
